People used to visit fortune tellers and palm readers to find out how rich they'd be in the future or at what age would they die before embracing the digital age.

However, the recent takeover of artificial intelligence has even left palm readers behind with websites like Life2vec, a death calculator invented by US and Danish scientists with an impressive but scary 78% accuracy rate in life expectancy.

Simultaneously, it is important to note that some of them may not be as reliable as they claim to be.

According to a Hindustan Times report, the creators of Life2vec have expressed concerns about several fraudulent websites that are copying their technology and misleading users.

According to the company, the fake sites have "nothing in common" with the original, and their goal is likely to take advantage of unsuspecting users.

"We are aware of Life2vec social media accounts, and there is at least one fraudulent website," the creators of this tool issued a warning, reported by Metro. "We are not affiliated with these or any other entities that claim to use our technology."

These phishing websites steal personal information, including emails, phone numbers, and credit card details, while also spreading malware.

The company has clarified that the AI death calculator has not yet been made available to the public or businesses.

They confirmed that its use is restricted to official and research purposes due to ethical concerns about privacy and sensitive data.

The original model is based on health and demographic data from six million Danes aged 35-65 years old, taking into account factors such as income, occupation, medical background, and life events.

The study was led by Professor Sune Lehmann, a professor at TEU, who emphasised AI's capacity to predict health outcomes as well as financial success.
